TDAC: how to fill in Thailand’s digital arrival card

Thailand now lets you in by QR code. Since 1 May 2025 every foreigner — whether arriving by air, by land or by sea — must fill in the electronic TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) in advance. It’s done online, no earlier than 72 hours before arrival; at the border you show the code from your screen instead of a paper form. Below we walk through the whole form step by step — with screenshots and the places where people stumble most often.

The TDAC is free and exists only on the official site of the Thai Immigration Bureau — tdac.immigration.go.th. Fake sites have appeared that harvest passport data and offer to “process the card for $10” — that’s a scam: the TDAC requires no payments at all.

What to have ready

The form doesn’t like long pauses, and the filing window is only 72 hours before arrival. So gather everything you’ll need before you open the site:

• —your passport: number, date of birth, citizenship;
• —your address in Thailand in full — province, district, sub-district and postcode, not just the hotel name;
• —the number of the flight you arrive on and the country you depart from;
• —your expected date of leaving Thailand and the return flight number — if there’s no ticket yet, any real future flight will do;
• —your occupation — the same one you gave in your visa application if you’re travelling on a DTV;
• —a working email: the QR code arrives there.

Step 1. Open the official site

1. 1.Choose your language — the form is officially translated;
2. 2.Click the “Arrival Card” button to go to the online form.

Step 2. Fill in your personal details

Enter everything exactly as it appears in your passport, in Latin letters.

1. 1.Surname;
2. 2.First name;
3. 3.Middle name — leave it blank;
4. 4.Passport number;
5. 5.Nationality / citizenship;
6. 6.Date of birth;
7. 7.Occupation. If you’re travelling on a DTV, give the same occupation as in your visa application;
8. 8.Sex;
9. 9.Visa number, if you have one. If not, leave the field blank;
10. 10.Country / territory of residence;
11. 11.City of residence;
12. 12.Phone number;
13. 13.Click “Continue”.

Step 3. Give your arrival date and purpose

That’s the passport part done — next the form asks about the journey.

1. 1.Date of arrival in Thailand;
2. 2.Country / territory of boarding — where you’re flying from;
3. 3.Purpose of travel;
4. 4.Mode of travel;
5. 5.Mode of transport;
6. 6.Flight or vehicle number.

Step 4. Fill in your departure information

1. 1.Your expected date of departure from Thailand;
2. 2.Mode of travel;
3. 3.Mode of transport;
4. 4.Flight number. If you don’t know it, any real future flight will do — from Google Flights, for example.

Step 5. Give your address in Thailand

The most meticulous part of the form: a Thai address is longer than the one you’re used to.

1. 1.Leave the first checkbox empty if you’re staying in Thailand. Tick it only if you’re in transit;
2. 2.Type of accommodation (hotel, apartment and so on);
3. 3.Province;
4. 4.District;
5. 5.Sub-district;
6. 6.Postcode;
7. 7.Address. The easy way is to find your hotel on Google Maps and copy the exact address from there;
8. 8.Click “Continue”.

Step 6. Fill in the health declaration

1. 1.List the countries you’ve been to in the past two weeks;
2. 2.The form will then offer to add other travellers;
3. 3.If you’re travelling alone, move on to reviewing your details.

Step 7. Add companions and review your details

Here you can add cards for the rest of your party — a family is easiest to file as one application. Once everyone is in, move on to reviewing the form.

Step 8. Leave your email and accept the terms

Two screens left. Enter the email the QR code should go to, and agree to the personal data processing terms.

Step 9. Get your QR code

1. 1.The QR code arrives at the email you gave;
2. 2.Print it out or save it to your phone;
3. 3.Show the QR code at passport control on arrival.

Common mistakes

• —Putting a patronymic in Middle name. A Russian international passport has no middle name — the field stays empty.
• —Giving only the hotel name instead of the address. The form needs the address in full: province, district, sub-district and postcode.
• —Leaving the form until the boarding gate. The window is 72 hours before arrival, and Wi-Fi at the departure airport is a lottery.
• —Filling in the card on a third-party site. There is one official address — tdac.immigration.go.th, and everything there is free.
• —Assuming the TDAC settles the return-ticket question. It doesn’t: the border asks for one now and then with any visa — standard practice at passport control.

The whole card takes about ten minutes and adds nothing at the border — on the contrary, it removes the paper form. This guide is enough to do the TDAC yourself.
