The consulate board
Since 31 August 2026 a DTV can only be filed at the consulate of the country you are a citizen or a permanent resident of. The board shows how each consulate works for the people who live in its district: timelines, fee, filing procedure, document requests. “Residents only” marks the consulates that are closed to non-residents.

What this board is. All year round we track how every consulate accepting DTV applications works: decisions, document requests, changes in requirements. Since 31 August 2026 each consulate takes a narrower circle of applicants — its own citizens and permanent residents. What you see here is what that means in practice: the filing procedure, timelines, fee, and the documents a consulate tends to ask for on top.
A monthly summary of the board with commentary goes out in the journal — the “DTV barometer” section. A status is weather, not a guarantee: the outcome of a particular application depends on the applicant’s details and the document package.
