How filing works

Everything happens remotely: documents go into the electronic system, the fee is paid online by card, and even the interview — when one is scheduled — takes place over video. This is the only consulate in the system with a fully online cycle, interview included.

A decision takes about two weeks, faster in the quiet months.

Jurisdiction

Ankara accepts applicants located in Türkiye or Georgia. A residence permit isn’t required — being in the country legally is enough. The borders of the jurisdiction are firm:

  • Armenia does not fall under Ankara — applicants holding Russian documents from Armenia file through Moscow;
  • filing “from the UAE on a Turkish stamp” is a workaround with risks of its own and isn’t part of the baseline scenario.

What we track here

The rhythm of decisions, how often interviews are scheduled, and any shift in requirements. Across a year of observation we’ve recorded no sharp policy reversals here — a rarity in the DTV system, where a consulate can change overnight, as it did in Colombo.

The state of every consulate is on the live board.
