DTV via Lima

The embassy in Lima serves Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Filing is online, the fee is $400, up to ten working days. The embassy has no DTV page of its own; the requirements live in the e-Visa form. All five countries of the district are on the yellow fever list.

Jurisdiction

Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela — citizens and residents of those countries

Who can file here from 31 August 2026

Citizens and residents of Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. The embassy states plainly that it cannot issue a visa to a foreign national already in Thailand: the visa is obtained before entry. Lima does not publish at all which documents it accepts as proof of permanent residence — neither for citizens nor for holders of a carné de extranjería, the foreign resident’s ID card. The first decisions will show how it reads the new requirement.

The requirements live in the form, not on the site

Lima has no separate DTV page: the visa is one line in the list of types and one line in the table of fees. Neither the required account balance, nor a list of documents, nor requirements for dependants are published; the embassy refers applicants to the portal. Since 31 August the e-Visa form has required proof of permanent residence, a criminal record certificate, three months of statements with a balance no lower than 500,000 THB or a sponsorship letter, and a work document or a portfolio. We assemble the package for the form.

How filing works

  • Everything online, in six steps: account, form, documents, payment, waiting, visa by email.
  • The $400 fee is paid inside the portal; the embassy does not describe the payment method.
  • Timeline per the embassy site: up to ten working days, plus another five on a document request.
  • Dependants: per the e-Visa form, a spouse and children under 20 with a document proving the relationship.

We have no evidence of filings by residents of the district, and we name neither timelines beyond the stated ones nor any statistics.

The criminal record certificate

Peruvians need the electronic Certificado de Antecedentes Penales from the Poder Judicial, the judiciary: the cape.pj.gob.pe portal, 40.40 soles, a PDF straight away if there are no name matches in the database. A foreign resident obtains it online the same way, against a carné de extranjería or a PTP, the temporary stay permit: that is written into the judiciary’s own directive. The certificate is valid for 90 days.

Not to be confused with the Antecedentes Judiciales from INPE and the Antecedentes Policiales from the police: those are different documents. The certificate is in Spanish, and filing needs an English translation. An apostille does not work for Thailand yet: the Convention enters into force there on 28 February 2027.

The form allows the certificate of the country of citizenship instead of the Peruvian one. For a Colombian, an Ecuadorian or a Venezuelan living in Peru, that is a choice.

Yellow fever

All five countries of the district are on Thailand’s official list: entry from them or through them requires an international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, given at least ten days before entry. Lima is the only post in the region that writes about this plainly on its own pages. The certificate is submitted through the electronic T8 form and is required from the age of nine months, including a transit of more than 12 hours through an at-risk country. A visa will not save you at the border without it.

What else matters

For Peruvians the 90-day visa-free regime still applies after 15 September 2026. Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela do not appear on the current visa-free lists: their citizens need a visa for any trip, and a five-year DTV settles the question for a long time.

What we track here

The first filings after 31 August, and the appearance of any DTV requirements at all on the embassy site. Lima is “soft” not because it grants anything, but because it has not updated its pages: the rule operates in the form, and the embassy can publish its own reading of it any day.

A package you have assembled yourself we check before filing — the Preflight Check: $300, a written report within two working days. Full support all the way to the visa is the Solo Route and Family Route.

The state of every consulate is on the live board, and the consulate assigned to your country is on the map.
